This year's holiday assembly is set for Friday, December 21, at 11:15 a.m. in the multipurpose room. Come see your kids sing their hearts out to some favorite holiday songs.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Kiddo! Dance Performance
A big shout out goes to the 4th and 5th graders, and especially our awesome dance teacher, Alan Scofield, for putting on an amazing dance performance last Tuesday. Mr. Stachon's class, Ms. Lackey's class, Ms. Harr's class, and Ms. Shern's class awed us with their dance moves including an Irish jig, line dancing, the Swing, the Charleston, and a little disco. The kids pulled it off effortlessly and by the end of the performance everyone including teachers and parents were out on the dance floor swinging away for the grand finale! You can see some great pictures from the event here: http://www.ednamaguire.org/dance-performance-07.html
Play Structure Update
We'd like to thank everyone who participated in last week's Donation Day. We're getting closer and closer to making the fantastic new K/1 play structure a reality. Thanks so much to everyone who's donated. See the list of K-1 Playstructure donors. If you'd like to contribute, please drop off a check in the office with the memo "New K/1 Play Structure."
We'd also like to recognize all the families who helped fund construction of our grade 2-5 play structure. The list of grade 2-5 play structure donors is also up on the website: http://www.ednamaguire.org/playstructure2-5.html
Golden Sneaker Award
Check out pictures from the Golden Sneaker Award assembly.
Book Fair Author Talk
Check out photos from the Author Talk at the Book Fair Evening Cafe. Edna Maguire students met Jonathan Kathrein, author of Don't Fear the Shark. Jonathan was bitten by a shark while surfing at Stinson Beach when he was 16 years old. After appearing earlier in the week at an informative assembly, Jonathan returned for a book signing on the night of our Book Fair Evening Cafe.
GARDEN UPDATE
The persimmons are ripe and ready for the picking in the garden this week. Read more about our garden and how we're looking for pinecones and coffee grinds.
