Halloween Pictures
The blustery weather did not stop Lucille Ball, assorted princesses, pirates, ghouls, goblins, hippies, and other costumed students and teachers from showing off their creativity at the annual Edna Maguire Halloween parade. See all the wonderful and colorful pictures.
Picture Retakes
If you would like to have your child's school picture retaken or if your child was absent on picture day, we will have pictures taken on Tuesday, November 4th at 8:45 a.m. Please come to the office at that time.
December Hot Lunch Menus Online Now
You can now order Revolution Foods lunches for the month of December. We have some great new additions like Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Chicken Caesar
Salad, and Diesel Turkey and Organic Cheddar Sandwich on a Kaiser Roll. After placing your new orders, please check the Account Balance section at the top right of the calendar page to see how much you owe. You can do this by subtracting the "Future Orders" from "My Account Balance." If you plan on ordering during the month, write a check to Edna Maguire PTA for more than you currently owe so you will have funds to draw from. Instructions are also on the Edna Maguire website. We greatly appreciate your prompt payment. Thanks for supporting the PTA Hot Lunch program!
Book Fair News: Mustangs Going Green

11:15 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – Local author Andrea Gosline will hold two assemblies to promote her new book, The Happiness Tree.
5:00 to 8:00 p.m. – Book Fair Evening Cafe (Cafe will be open from 5:00 to 7:00; Fair will remain open until 8:00). Authors Andrea Gosline and Ben Boos (Swords) will be there to sign their books. Use the online 'Direct to Home' purchasing to ship books to your friends and families outside of Mill Valley!

This week's Terrific Tuesday is at E&O Trading Company in Larkspur. Get the food to-go so you don't miss a moment of election coverage. There are lots of great southeast Asian appetizers perfect for parties, and they are giving Edna Maguire 20 percent of all sales served to Edna families. Tell your server you are with Edna Maguire School and write Edna Maguire on your restaurant bill. You'll be treating yourself and helping support your children's education.
Fall Garden Festival Kudos
Thanks to everyone who supported the Fall Garden Festival by baking treats, selling popcorn and lemonade, making and selling crafts, weighing pumpkins, and face painting. Festival goers raised $855 for the Children's Garden! Social Skills Panel
Please join District counselors Dr. Claudia Trinklein-Engman and Jason Mountsier, speech and language specialist Corynn Tamman, and psychologist Sheri Yoon on Thursday, November 6 at the District Office from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. for a panel discussion on the District's social skills programs. Learn how your child's constantly evolving social skills require various strategies and interventions, and how the District can create a safe environment that allows students to try out and navigate new skills and interactive concepts. The panel will be sharing examples of tools used in their daily practice that allow them to teach and model social skills and to encourage emotional resiliency. This event is sponsored by all of the PTAs in our district.

Play Group
Some children with learning differences have a hard time making friends. Our play group is a great chance for them to build relationships with coaching from parents. MV Girls Softball 2009 Registration is Coming Soon!
Calling all girls from kindergarten through eighth grade for spring softball! Online registration will be open November 20 through December, 2008. Family Work Day on Horse Hill Preserve
The Marin County Open Space District invites all Edna families to participate in a habitat restoration workday/interpretive program at Horse Hill this Saturday, November 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In addition to a pizza party and raffle, they will be offering an Equine interpretive program with naturalist David Herlocker and Horse Hill equestrian extraordinaire Robert Eichstaedt. The work is appropriate for all ages, and promises to be a fun, educational outing for the entire family. Training begins at 9:00, but you are welcome to join in at any time and leave as needed. Meet at the fire road entrance gate on Lomita near Greenfield Court. |
