Open House this Thursday!
Please come to Open House this Thursday, May 21st. The garden is open for viewing at 6:00 p.m. and classroom Open House begins at 6:30 p.m.. Come visit in your child's classroom and see their work from the past year. You may also take this opportunity to visit other teachers and classrooms throughout the school.


Friday, May 22nd is Edna Pride Day
Students and teachers come dressed in Edna colors... any combination of green and blue. Be creative and show your school spirit!


The Garden Fair is Coming!
The Garden Fair is almost here! Please join us May 31st from noon to 4:00 p.m. for music, food, games, activities and prizes! There will be lots of fun things for kids of all ages. Visit the petting zoo, make crafts, run races, and watch celebrity chefs judge the bake off. Come celebrate the Garden and have a great time. See the flyer for a complete schedule of activities.


Volunteers Still Needed for the Garden Fair
Thank you to all the parent volunteers who have signed up to work the Garden Fair. We can't do it without YOU! We still need volunteers for the 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. shifts. Please email Barbara Bleckman at barbaracrampton@comcast.net to sign up for this fun event!


The Bake Off at the Garden Fair
Bring your delicious dessert to the Garden Fair to compete before culinary experts and area celebrity chefs. The judges will assign points for presentation, taste and composition and then award fantastic prizes. Bring your dessert in by 11:30 a.m. on May 31st and we'll take care of the rest. Sign up early for entry fee discount and ease of cataloging by emailing Suzanne Alpert at suzanne_alpert@yahoo.com and leave your check in the office made out to Edna Maguire PTA. Frequent Rider Winners
Thanks everyone who participated in the Frequent Rider Contest. It was a huge success with lots of students walking, biking and carpooling to school. A big thank you to Kaiser Permanente, Marin Bike, Camelback and the PTA for kindly donating prizes.

Muffins with Mom – Thank Yous and Pictures
A HUGE thank you to Rob Luster who coordinated the delightful morning and the volunteers that welcomed our fabulous moms for the annual Muffins with Mom event last Friday. We had a wonderful turnout, with lots of moms! Thank you to Wade Van Valen, Pete Gilmore, Howard Wynn, Mike Fox, Ed Faubel, Ryan Ferguson, Gianluca Viscardi, Bruce Cardinal and Jose del Castillo for serving the moms their muffins and coffee. Library Due Dates
As we wind up the school year, please make sure all library books are returned by Friday, May 29th. Fifth graders must return their books a week earlier, by Friday, May 22nd. The last library class will be on Friday, June 5th. Watch for final overdue book notices in the June 10th Wednesday Folders. Thank you for your help in making sure all books are returned on time.


PTA Budget Vote Announcement
In accordance with the Edna Maguire School PTA Bylaws, the proposed budget for the 2009-10 school year is made public before the vote for approval. This vote will take place on June 5th at 12:15 p.m. at the PTA End-of Year Luncheon in the multipurpose room. If you have any questions about the budget, please contact Katrina Kehl at kkehl@pacbell.net.


Reimbursements for Receipts?
Thanks to Edna teachers and parents who have bought supplies for various events during the 2008-09 school year. If you wish to be reimbursed for your purchases, please turn in your receipts with a completed reimbursement form to the PTA Treasurer's (Suzanne Alpert) mail box in the Edna Office. Reimbursement forms can be found on our website. All receipts must be turned in by June 1st to qualify for payment. Finally, many thanks for all of the errand-running, shopping, and helping you have done to make this such a successful school year.


Final Revolution Foods Lunch Orders due May 22nd
Thank you for supporting the Revolution Foods lunch program this year. As summer quickly approaches, we need parents to place their final lunch orders for the year. Orders must be placed online and all unpaid balances are due in the office by Friday, May 22nd. Lunch is available through the last day of school, June 17th. Don't forget to take the survey so we can continue to improve the lunch program!

Anyone who has an outstanding balance in their account on May 22nd will be notified. You may donate the balance to the PTA or you can receive reimbursement by contacting Suzanne Alpert at suzanne_alpert@yahoo.com. Thank you again for your support of this program, which benefits the educational programs at Edna. We hope your children have enjoyed lunch!
