Frequent Rider Program Starts Next Week
Choose freedom from your car and win prizes for walking, biking and carpooling to school in the Frequent Rider Miles Contest. For the four weeks between next Monday, April 6th and Friday, May 8th, students will be rewarded for getting to school in these healthy ways. Make sure your child fills out the Frequent Rider Mile Cards to become eligible to win prizes, including a gift certificate for a new bike! Look for the cards in your child's Wednesday folder. Children who are unable to participate can volunteer to make posters or hand out prizes.

Remember, carpooling is when two or more families travel to school together. Please see the MVSD Directory on page 13 to find other Edna families with whom to carpool.

Questions, contact Lisa Gilmore (lisa.gilmore88@gmail.com) or Rhonda Campbell (rhonda@kcfilm.net).

Hot Lunch News
The April hot lunch menu is available now and the May menu will be available April 1st. The nachos and the spaghetti with meatballs were big hits in the tasting a few weeks ago. Please ask your kids if they liked what they tasted. Look for new items on May's menu, including all natural hot dog, honey glazed chicken thighs, sausage pizza, chicken linguini alfredo, and chicken teriyaki on chow mein noodles. As a reminder, there will only be sandwiches and salads offered the week of April 6th because Revolution Foods is moving kitchens.

Order online here or go to the Edna website and click on the Revolution Foods logo. Please make sure you are up-to-date on your lunch payments after you place your order by checking the account balance against your future orders. The lunch program is our second largest fundraiser and all funds benefit the children at Edna.

"10 Americans" Talk a Success
Last week, Environmental Working Group president Ken Cook presented "10 Americans," a talk about the surprising people who found toxic substances in their bodies. Mothers of Marin Against the Spray (MOMAS), which is headed by Edna mom Debbie Friedman, was a proud co-sponsor of the exciting event. You can view Ken Cook's talk online by going to www.ewg.org/kidsafe.

To join other parents who are working to protect children's environmental health in Marin, email Jeanice Skvaril at skvaril@yahoo.com and ask to be added to the MOMAS email list. MOMAS will keep you updated about easy steps you can take to make a difference in your own community.
